  • Our 121 Leadership & Management coaching programme has been running for over 10 years, and has a proven track record, both in its methodology and delivery.  As with most of our work the approach again follows the “3 phase” methodology of  “education”, “coaching and training”, and “mentoring and business application”.

    The duration of the 121 coaching programme will often vary depending on client needs and timeframes; however, on average, we anticipate the formal timeframe of the programme to be over a 12 month period.

    In probably 50% of assignments, we continue to have an ongoing relationship with the individual, albeit with a reduced frequency, focusing mostly in optimising the extended “mentoring and business application phase.” Over this period, we can fully exploit the increased personal awareness and capability of the client, along with our own deep understanding of them as an individual, and also their business dynamics.

      The initial “education phase” is quite intense, as it tends to be undertaken over a c.4 week period. There are two 4 hour 121 sessions, followed by a 2 hour “tripartite” alignment session with their line manager. This is critical to firstly ensure the line manager is in agreement with our diagnostic outputs, and secondly to ensure that they are equipped to provide relevant and aligned “on the job” coaching for the individual themselves.

    • Change thinking & share relevant models and strategies
      • Am I thinking as an Operator, Manager or a Leader
      • Develop the required Leadership & Management capability from a scope of:
        • Management efficiency & effectiveness
        • Design of the transformational agenda
        • Delivery of strategy through team & stakeholders

      There are then typically two further 4 hour 121 sessions within this phase , normally c.8 weeks apart. This provides the individual with the opportunity to consolidate their learning, and importantly to practically apply it in their day to day role. We also undertake a further “tripartite” sessions at the end this phase , to ensure we remain collectively on track, and have a consistent mechanism to catch the relevant feedback from all parties.

    • Reinforce the understanding of the new thinking and strategies and ensure application into role
      • Utilisation of our business experience to apply a unique blend of coaching and mentoring in this phase
      • Pragmatic application into role ensuring sustained learning for the individual and Year 1 transformational performance benefits for the sponsor

      Again there are typically two further 4 hour 121 sessions within this phase with a final tripartite meeting to establish the point of accountability for ITZ, where we will review the deliverables together, and also formalise the relevant next steps, whether they include ITZ or not.

  • This programme is designed for a senior / High Potential group to build their awareness and understanding of the Leadership role and responsibilities, and to then build their capability in the key leadership disciplines. This programme can be tailored to the needs of specific groups and businesses, but in its standard form is a 4.25 day programme.

    Our philosophy is to run our Leadership programme on modular basis, one day every 4-8 weeks. We find that our clients rarely have the bandwidth to release their key people for days at a time, and also the individuals become “saturated” with input over a number of consecutive days.

    The Leadership programme is designed for the duration of c.6 months

    • Day 1 is the “educational” module, where we share the principles of Leadership and Management through our proprietary Leadership Map, along with undertaking the Insights type profiling with the group; these inputs provide the platform for the rest of the programme
    • Days 2, 3, & 4 are capability building modules in developing a Vision & Strategic Agenda, Talent Strategy, and Stakeholder Strategy
    • The final module is a review session for each of the delegates with ITZ and their line manager, where we collectively review the inputs and outputs of the programme. We then agree on the future action and development plan for the individual, ensuring that the respective accountabilities are clear
  • This programme is designed for current managers, aspiring managers, or leaders requiring enhanced management effectiveness.  The programme will build their awareness and understanding of the Management role and responsibilities, and to then build their capability in the key management disciplines.

  • Our Team programmes are tailored solutions, which initially build collective awareness and capability, but then progress to using this as a platform to focus on addressing any behavioural, performance or development issues and opportunities.

    Again we adopt our “3 phase” methodology, but will significantly adapt the sequence, flow and duration of the various interventions, depending on the situational priorities of the team.

    • Phase 1 covers the “educational” ground, with our “Navigator” 360 Team feedback tool also being available in a format appropriate for a for a Leadership or Management team.

    • Phase 2 will be very tailored to the specific development needs of the team, but will provide critical tools, techniques and processes, necessary to deliver successfully as a high performing Leadership and Management teams.

    • Phase 3 will then identify and resolve the specific behaviours, processes and/or business priorities. Typically, team engagements initially tend to be over a 6 month period and 3-5 days. From this point, it is common for individual and specific business needs to then be facilitated on a 121 basis, with some “circling back” as a team some 3-6 months down the line.

  • When we articulate, through our “Leadership & Management Map”, how Leadership and Management works, we demonstrate how critical the communication and engagement activities, are for Leaders & Managers’.

    Many Leaders and Managers have either had little experience of engaging with large groups, or they do not have a natural affinity towards it, or possibly both.  It is therefore critical that we offer, when relevant, our own in-house expertise in building this capability.

    Lori Weber is our Executive presentation and communication skills expert, and she brings with her a wealth of experience from working with a wide cross section of clients over many years.

    Lori works on both a 121 and group basis, again using her own proprietary techniques, as well as neatly integrating the “insights profiling language into her approach.

    • Phase 1 being the “Aspiration & Awareness” phase, where Lori invests time tailoring the programme by clarifying the individual’s current capability and desired outcomes, and also building their awareness of what is involved and why.

    • Phase 2 is the “Brave it and Build it” phase, where Lori will coach and train the individual in the relevant techniques for them, using appropriate video and playback interventions.

    • Phase 3 is the “Context & Consistency” phase, where Lori will then work with the individual to apply the theory to practical events and activities, and provide practice and rehearsal techniques. On a 121 basis the initial programmes are commonly 3 – 4 half day sessions, often followed with topical re engagement tying into preparing and reviewing major future events. The group sessions are commonly across 2 day workshops.
